What cables do I need to plug your DJM800 mixer in to my sound system?
If your hiring the CDJs and DJM800 without one of our sound system you will need a cable to run from the DJM800 to the input of the sound system you are using. This could be the sound system of a bar or club or simply a home stereo system. Onion Audio can provide any cables you need.
The DJM800 has two different types of output. XLR and RCA (or phono as they are commonly known).
If you are plugging in a home stereo, chances are it will accept RCA inputs. Check on the back to see if there are two phono sockets labeled ’Aux input’. Then check to see if you can select these inputs. Normally you will be able to scroll through from ‘CD’ – ‘Radio’ – ‘Aux’. If your stereo has these inputs then chances are you can use the stereo and Onion Audio will be able to provide the cables you need.
If you are plugging in to a club or pub system then you need to ask the club technical manager what inputs the club system has for your equipment. Usually you will get a response such as ‘XLR’, ‘Jack’ or ‘Phono’. In each case Onion Audio can provide the cables you need.
Each case is different so its best to chat to one of our engineers to make sure we provide the correct cables. If you are struggling, we are happy to contact the venue on your behalf.
